Ryan Gardner is Of Counsel to Jordon Voytek. His practice primarily involves the representation of businesses and entrepreneurs, providing a wide range of corporate advice from M&A transactions, corporate governance, employment, commercial contracts, and data privacy to outside general counsel services. Ryan regularly advises entrepreneurs and individuals during the start-up phase of a business, providing services including corporate formation, venture and debt financing, licensing, non-disclosure agreements, and general business planning, particularly for SaaS (software-as-a-service) businesses. In addition, he has served as first chair for jury and bench trials, giving him the ability to provide practical advice based on real-world outcomes and risk tolerances.
He began his legal career with Hogan & Hartson LLP (now Hogan Lovells) in Washington D.C. He then joined a mid-size firm in Burlington, Vermont, for many years, and in 2015, formed Gardner Preston PLLC.
Ryan holds a J.D., magna cum laude, from Washington & Lee University, and an A.B., cum laude, from Princeton University. He has been rated AV “Preeminent” by Martindale-Hubbell. Prior to law school, Ryan was a teacher and coach for several New England independent schools. He is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts of Vermont and New Hampshire.
In his local community, Ryan served on several municipal boards and committees, and, in addition to many years of youth hockey coaching, has over twenty years of lacrosse coaching experience at the youth, high school, and NCAA levels. Ryan lives in Norwich, Vermont, with his wife and son. In his free time, he enjoys golfing and skiing.
